Big Look Member On the Rise: Miss Lavelle E.

My name is Lavelle E. I am 16 years old attending Coral Springs High School. I love bowling, reading, and binge-watching my favorite TV shows and movies, as well as running track. My future goal is to be an entrepreneur.

I own a hair care line dedicated to Black people with locs that incorporates African culture named Blxck Rootz. I sell a hair mist and oil named after words used in different African languages. My products will help stimulate hair growth, strengthen hair follicles, and prevent breakage. I started Blxck Rootz because when I would retwist my hair with products from the beauty supply store, it caused a lot of build-up in my hair. It became such a hassle to wash it all out, so I thought why not create my own hair products. I got inspired to incorporate African culture in my business once I learned that Black people do not know a lot about their ancestry.

I hope my business gains some more followers and customers. I hope that within the next year more people see the benefits of my products.

One of my latest accomplishments would be that I went up in my class rank to placing within the top 15%.
